How DoorCountyGo handles information when you use the app.

Overview

DoorCountyGo is a local travel guide for discovering places, events, deals, weather, maps, and itinerary ideas around Door County. We do not offer user accounts, we do not run advertising, and we do not use cross-app tracking.

This policy explains what information is used by the app, why it is used, and what choices you have.

Information Stored on Your Device

To make the app work, DoorCountyGo saves a small amount of app data on your device. This can include your favorites, saved itineraries, recent searches, onboarding state, theme preference, temperature unit, and whether you want to use your current location.

This information is stored locally on your device and is used to power app features and remember your preferences.

Location and Weather

If you allow location access, the app may use your device location to center map features and to show more relevant local weather. Location access is optional and you can turn it off in the app settings or your device settings at any time.

When weather is requested, coordinates may be sent to our weather service provider so current conditions and forecasts can be returned to the app.

Links and Third-Party Services

The app may open third-party links such as websites, maps, phone links, and email links. If you contact us by email, we will receive the information you include in your message and use it to respond or provide support.

Third-party services that may receive limited information as part of providing app functionality include Apple or Google platform services, map and location handlers on your device, OpenWeather for weather data, and Sentry for crash and error reporting.

Crash Reports and Diagnostic Data

To keep the app stable, DoorCountyGo uses Sentry to collect anonymous crash reports and basic diagnostic data when the app encounters an unexpected error. This may include device model, operating system version, app version, and a stack trace describing what went wrong.

Crash reports do not include your name, email, location, or the contents of your favorites and itineraries. This data is used only to identify and fix bugs, and it is retained for a limited period before being deleted.

Anonymous Usage Analytics

DoorCountyGo records limited anonymous usage events, such as which screens are opened or which features are used, so we can understand how the guide is performing and improve it. Events are tied only to a randomly generated device identifier and do not include your name, email, or precise location.

No analytics data is sold or shared for advertising, and we do not use this data to identify you personally.

Corrections and Photos You Submit

If you submit a correction or suggestion for a business (for example, to fix hours or a phone number), we collect the name and email you provide, an optional phone number, your message, any corrected details, and any photo you choose to attach. We use this only to review the suggestion, apply approved changes, and contact you about your submission if needed.

Submitted photos and details are stored on our service provider (Supabase). Please only submit information and photos you have the right to share. You can ask us to delete a submission you sent by emailing feedback@doorcountygo.com.

How We Use Information

We use information only to operate and improve app features, remember your preferences, generate itineraries, show relevant weather, respond to support messages, review submitted corrections, and keep the guide accurate and useful.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not use your information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Data Retention and Your Choices

Locally stored app data stays on your device until you remove it, clear app data, or delete the app. Information you send by email is retained according to those communication records and any legal obligations that apply.

You can disable location access at any time, or contact us if you have a privacy question.

Children and Contact

DoorCountyGo is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, contact us at feedback@doorcountygo.com.
